Have a question? We’re here to help.
Step 1) QUOTE - Bring your drawings or rough measurements in for a consultation to pick your material and have a proper quote provided. This a great opportunity to bring all your design elements together so feel free to have any cabinetry, paint samples, door pulls, etc. with you during the consultation.
Step 2) TEMPLATE - Once you’re ready to proceed, we require a 50% deposit to schedule a template date, or to reserve the material and quoted price while you’re getting ready for template.
Step 3) INSTALL - Expect your beautiful new tops 2-3 weeks from the date of template. We will call to arrange the exact date once we near the end of the fabrication process.
We template the cabinetry to get accurate measurements down to a 32nd of an inch and to get the wall scribe so there is a consistent overhang along the whole countertop run.
We also do this to assess the area we will be installing for potential issues that may come up down the line. For example, obstructions or bump outs and notches that weren’t communicated in rough drawings.
We need all cabinetry installed and secured in place to measure off and any temporary or existing tops and obstructions to the area should be removed. We also need the make and model of your sink, faucet, and stove, as well as any accessories like a soap dispenser or water filter tap. If you are only replacing your countertops, we will need existing countertops removed prior to templating.
Yes, we can, however, if we measure with tops on, we need it to be understood that the countertops are subject to inconsistencies up to a ¼”. We recommend removing all existing tops for a professional finish.
We are not licensed plumbers, so it is always recommended to have one scheduled for the day after install. We will attach the sink to the stone but cannot touch any fittings.
We do our best to line up patterns and keep it tight, however seams are not invisible.
There are a lot of factors that go into deciding if a seam is necessary. We do everything within our power to avoid needing a seam, however, if this is a concern please discuss with our sales coordinators prior to the commencement of your project.
Some contributing factors:
Keeping existing backsplash can sometimes pose problems with new countertop installation, there may be gaps or inconsistencies. We recommend considering a new backsplash to go with your new countertop.
Simply put, neither is better than the other. Both materials can make for a great countertop or other hard surface application. Our advice, decide what your non-negotiables are for your dream countertop in terms of durability, pattern, colour, etc. and you will find one or the other may cater better to your personal needs. We are always happy to help point you in the right direction during a consultation at our showroom.
Porcelain is a great option for interior and exterior applications. It can be used as a standard countertop or for cladding to things like fireplaces, and walls. Porcelain is a very durable material even though it is thinner than other materials. Porcelain is non-porous so resists well to stains.
We recommend finding a new piece of stone instead of re-using existing pieces. Existing pieces can be damaged in the process and require more time. Finding a remnant at our shop will always prove to be a more economical and environmentally friendly option.
